I was wrong.

With spring arriving soon, and lilacs blooming, wrong becomes right.

I’ve taken writing classes, then I’ve taken writing classes. Visit my Resources page for a list of the teachers, mentors, and authors who have inspired me, challenged me, and encouraged me to push my writing to another level. Before enrolling in several classes this year and participating in author discussion groups, I assumed I understood POV, descriptions, scenes, settings, themes, and… but I was wrong.

Last night was Laurie Scheer’s final class sponsored by the Wisconsin Writers Association (WWA). There will be more. Don’t hesitate (they fill up fast) to enroll in any class through WWA. At sixty-five and after decades of taking writing classes, Laurie Scheer surprised me, handed me new insights on the writing craft, but more importantly, she reminded me how to embrace my own, unique voice.
