Chaos becomes beauty…
In Roz Morris’s NAIL YOUR NOVEL blog, her beautiful response to a letter she received from a 16-year-old forced me to reach back, way back, and admit to myself how the times that seemed chaotic, unfair, and painful, were my most valuable experiences. I still scoff at the “it was meant to be…” adage, that’s stupid. For me, it’s more a matter of survival. We learn so much from surviving and appreciating our strength.
This lesson also applies to my writing process. It was when I buried my head in my hands, when my mind went blank, and when everything I wrote sounded ridiculous that I was so close. It was during my lowest point that looking back, I was ready to fly.
